Airplus 'Hug My Heels' Gel Heel Liners

Like many girls, I am one who loves her heels.

Once in a while it's nice to take a break from them and wear something more comfortable. For example, in the fall and winter seasons I enjoy wearing boots. In the summer and spring when it gets warmer I usually wear various sandals.

I have always loved the style of flats. They can be just as glamorous as heels. However, every pair of flats that I have tried have bothered my feet. Most of them dig into the heel of my foot making them uncomfortable to wear. I used to think it was just because I needed to break the shoes in. I soon realized they were just breaking my foot.

I strayed away from flats for a long time. Until recently, that is. I saw a cute pair of pointed-toe ballet flats that were a chic nude patent leather style. I purchased the flats online without even trying them. I had a feeling the back of the shoe would be low and dig into the heel of my foot, but I still had hope that I could work with them.

The day the UPS man delivered the shoes, I immediately tried them on. Not surprisingly they were painful to walk in. Being the optimistic person that I am, I went on the search to find something that would make the shoes more comfortable. Returning the shoes was not an option.

I soon found the solution to my problem- gel heel liners. I purchased the Airplus Hug My Heels Gel Heel Liners from Walmart for $3 (on clearance).

These gel heel liners are AMAZING! They have a sticky adhesive on the back that allow you to stick them to the heel of your shoes (flats, heels, etc). The fact that they have a gel texture cushions every step you take. I also really enjoy the fact that the liners are clear so that they are not as visible inside your shoe when you take them off.

Here is what they look like inside of my new shoes.

As you can see the liners are not that visible. The comfort that these gel heel liners provide are well worth the $3 I paid.

5/5 stars

I am so happy that I have found a way to wear flats!

Umbra Little Black Dress Hanging Double-Sided Jewelry Organizer Review

Every girl owns that 'little black dress' that can be used for multiple occasions.

The best part about having a 'little black dress' is that you can show off a different look just by changing up the accessories. The only problem you may have is that you can't see a complete overview of your jewelry collection to help you decide what accessories to wear for that special event...

You are probably one of those people who likes to keep your jewelry in their original packaging. Although your jewelry may be safe, you may also forgot that you own it because the box is hidden in the back of your drawers.

You may also be one of those people who likes to put everything in a jewelry box. Although, in this case, all your jewelry is in one place, for some reason it still gets tangled up, especially those necklaces!! Arghh. The other problem may be that the jewelry is starting to tarnish because all the metals are touching each other.

I was one of those girls who liked to have all her earrings displayed out in the open. My chandelier earrings were all displayed on a cork board so that they were all in plain view. However, recently I was thinking about how cluttered my wall looked with all the earrings on my cork board. I also thought about how much dust the earrings were probably collecting. I started doing some research to look for ways to organize my earrings in a way that I could still see all of them at once, but still have them stored away safely.

Then I came across the Little Black Dress Jewelry Organizer.

I purchased the Umbra Little Black Dress Hanging Double-Sided Jewelry Organizer from Target for $15.99 (It was marked down from $19.99 :) ).

I immediately loved the concept of the Little Black Dress organizer because of its clear compartments that allow me to see all of my earrings all at once. I also really liked the concept of the Little Black Dress because of its hanger and the ability for it to be stored in my closet (beside my other dresses ;) ).

This organizer has 2 sides. The first side has 33 clear jewelry storage pockets, which I have neatly placed my earrings and rings. The other side of the organizer has 20 hoops for your necklaces and bracelets. The hoops are very convenient because they have velcro closures, making it easy to hang even your bangles that may not have clasps!

If you are in need of a different way to neatly and safely store your jewelry I recommend the Little Black Dress jewelry organizer!

Who said you can't have 2 little black dresses?

Nivea Lip Butter- Vanilla and Macadamia

I am always a fan of trying new lip products, especially lip balms, chapsticks or lip butters.

Nivea came out with its own version of a lip butter not too long ago. I read many blogs that said that there were four delicous scents including Caramel Cream Kiss, Raspberry Rosé Kiss, Vanilla and Macadamia Kiss, and an original called Smooth Kiss. I was really excited about getting my hands on Raspberry Rosé Kiss and Vanilla and Macadamia Kiss. However, I soon came to realize that only two out of the four types would be available in Canada. Why does this always happen!! :(

I noticed some things that are different about the Canadian Nivea lip butters compared to the ones found in the United States.

1. The first thing I want to point out is that the names are a bit different on the Canadian packaging. The names of all the scents in the States end with 'Kiss'. However, the ones in Canada are less 'exciting'. For example, the original one is not called Smooth Kiss, it is just referred to 'Original' (how original..). Then there is the other one called Vanilla and Macadamia, which I picked up.

2. The second thing I noticed was the difference in the packaging. The lip butters in Canada and the States come in tins. However, instead of having the safety seal on the tin, the tins come in cardboard packaging. I definitely would have preferred to have the safety seal on the tin so I would be more confident that nobody has touched the product with their fingers. The cardboard packaging does not ensure any sense of security because people can easily take the lip butters out of the cardboard.

3. The final difference I noticed involves the ingredients. I noticed that the first ingredient on some of the US packaging is Petrolatum. In Canada, this ingredient is absent. There is some controversy about the use of Petrolatum in cosmetics as there are a lot of safety concerns about the use of the ingredient in products. Here is a website with more information http://www.besthealthmag.ca/look-great/skin/the-truth-about-petrolatum

Nivea Lip butter Vanilla and Macadamia

Vanilla and Macadamia Review
Product (5/5): I am a big fan of vanilla. Therefore, I had to pick up the Vanilla and Macadamia scent of the Nivea lip butters. To me, this flavour smells like chocolate Kinder Surprises! In the tin, the lip butter is white. The consistency is really smooth and leaves your lips quite moisturized. Some people have said that the lip butters leave a white-cast on the lips. I did not notice that. Instead, I noticed that they leave my lips quite shiny and hydrated. Unless you are slabbing on a huge amount of the product on your lips, I do not foresee the colour to be opaque either.

Packaging (4/5): The problem with tins is the fact that they are unsanitary because you have to stick your finger in it. It definitely is not as convenient as a stick or tube form, but at the same time I kind of like how its in a tin form. Also, I keep this product beside by bed and only apply at night, so I can make sure my hands are always clean.

Price and Place (4/5): I did not find these lip butters to be readily accessible. I went to various places such as Shoppers Drug Mart and Target, but could not find them there. Nonetheless, I ended up purchasing mine from Walmart for a decent price of $2.82.

Final Say: If you are a lip junkie like me, this is something to add to your collection. Even if you are not, you should try it out anyways, especially since the price is affordable. I just wish the other scents were available for my Canadian gals!

Milani Color Statement Lipsticks

After hearing so much hype about the Milani Color Statement Lipsticks I knew I had to give them a try for myself. The only thing was, I did not know if they were available in Canada.

I knew that Milani cosmetics were sold at Loblaws and Real Canadian Superstores, but was skeptical about whether these new lipsticks would be sold in those places. I remembered the last time I looked at the Milani displays (which was a LONG time ago), I left diappointed because they did not contain the products that I wanted :( .

However, last week when I went to the Superstore I left quite happy as I had found the lipsticks I was looking for!

The Milani display was stocked with the whole collection of the Color Statement lipsticks. The two that I immediately gravitated towards were Flamingo Pose and Nude Creme.

Over the past few weeks I have watched many reviews on YouTube for these lipsticks. These two specific colours were two of my favourite colours.

Flamingo Pose: I love the vibrancy of Flamingo Pose. This coral/red colour is perfect for the spring and summer seasons. I know I will be wearing it quite a lot, especially during the summer when I like to do minimal eye makeup. A bold pop of colour on the lips will make anybody look bright and summery! This shade has a sheen, but no shimmer.

Nude Creme: When it comes to nude lipsticks, I usually have a hard time finding a shade that suits my skin tone. One of the first nude lipsticks I ever purchased was Myth from MAC. When I apply Myth it literally looks like I have smeared concealer on my lips. Therefore, I only wear it if I mix it with another lipstick to tone it down. On the other hand, Nude Creme has become the definition of the perfect nude lipstick for my skin tone. This lipstick is a nude pink with a peach undertone, making it wearable. This lipstick has definitely become my everyday lipstick colour. This colour also has no shimmer.

Formula: (5/5) These lipsticks have easily become my favourite ones in my collection. They are soo creamy and very pigmented. What I also love about them is how moisturizing they are! I have found that Flamingo Pose leaves a bit of stain once it wears off. So, I would assume the bright colours will tend to do the same, which is nice.

Scent: (4/5) As soon as you open the tube you will be surrounded by the aroma of watermelon jolly ranchers! Yum! Personally, I love the scent, but if you are sensitive to scents then this may be a deal breaker for you :(

Packaging: (5/5) Looking at the packaging above, you may think you are looking at a high-end lipstick. The gold tube is so sleek and reminds me of the Yves Saint Laurent lipstick packaging. I also find the bottom of the tube very convenient for checking the colour of the lipstick. So, if you are storing your lipsticks upside down you can quickly find the colour you want to use!

Sephora by O.P.I- I Gotta Blush On You: Review

Sephora by opi nail polish I gotta blush on you

Sephora by opi nail polish I gotta blush on you
When it comes to nail polish I always tend to be attracted to similar shades. I usually lean towards pinks. Although I like a pop of colour on my nails, I also really enjoy more muted shades, such as neutral pink colours. To add to my nail polish collection I recently picked up Sephora by O.P.I’s ‘I Gotta Blush On You’.

Product: The Sephora website describes the colours as an opaque ballet pink. What I really like about this nail polish is not only that the colour is true to its name, but it also has a nice creamy formula. Cream nail polishes are bound to be streaky, but I don’t mind having to put a few coats on to get rid of the streakiness.

Packaging: The packaging of Sephora by O.P.I nail polishes is similar to actual O.P.I nail polishes. They have a similar type of handle and glass jar. The only thing that is really different is the shape of the jar. The brush applicator is also the perfect size to cover the greatest amount of surface area on your nails.

Overall Rating: 5/5 Perfect shade of pink. Very neutral so it would be perfect for the office.

Korres Lip Butter- Jasmine: Review

Korres Lip Butter Jasmine

Korres Lip Butter Jasmine
I am a lip product hoarder. I own all different kinds of lip balms, butters, lipsticks, etc.

The Korres lip butters have received much attention, so I finally decided to see what all the hype was about. I ended up picking up the shade Jasmine.

Product: Browsing through all the shades, the Korres lip butters are known for their delicious smells and tinted finishes. However, Jasmine is more on the sheer side. It gives a slight tint to the lips, but barely. Other than that, I really enjoy the moisture that this lip butter provides. It applies so smoothly (like butter) and is not sticky. I prefer to apply this lip butter before I got to bed because I wake up and my lips feel very well moisturized.
Korres Lip Butter Jasmine
Packaging: Although I do enjoy the lip butter itself, the downfall would have to be the packaging. I think the little container is cute, but really quite unsanitary and not ideal. I only use these kinds of lip balms before I go to bed because I do not like dipping my finger in the container throughout the day when I am out and about.
Korres Lip Butter Jasmine
Overall Rating : 4.0/5 The only thing that I do not like about the product is the packaging. It would be nice to have in a tube form.

Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzing Powder with Real Cocoa: Review

Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer
Bronzer. The product that can warm up your complexion, giving you a beautiful sun-kissed glow without stepping foot outside. However, if you use an unflattering shade, you can actually end up looking muddy or that dreaded ‘Oompa Loompa Orange’ :S.

Many bronzers tend to have shimmer in them, which helps emphasize the glowing aspect of bronzer. However, matte shades, which are more ideal for contouring, are more difficult to come by, but you can still manage to find some if you look.

One of the cheapest matte bronzers is the infamous NYC Sunny bronzer which retails for around $3. Although I do own this product, I have to say that I am not a big fan of it. I find the colour to have too much of an orange undertone for my liking. Also, the product itself tends to break me out, so I try to avoid using it.

After doing some research I finally decided to invest in a bronzer that I think is the definition of what a bronzer should be: Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzing Powder with Real Cocoa.

Product: Let me just begin by saying that the aroma of this product after you open the compact is divine! This bronzer has traces of cocoa so it smells exactly like chocolate. I personally love the scent, and surprisingly the fragrance does not irritate my skin. However, if you are not a fan of fragrance in your make-up and have extremely sensitive skin this bronzer may not be for you.

Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer

Next, the bronzer is the perfect brown colour and completely matte. Too Faced also has another version of this bronzer called Milk Chocolate which is slightly lighter this Chocolate. I swatched that shade in Sephora, but I found that it was too light for me. If you are fair skinned though, I would recommend that one for you.

When I apply this shade on my face, it automatically brings warmth to my face. I love it! This bronzer is perfect for the winter time. Also, for those of you who might use foundation that is too light for you, you can adjust the colour by using a bronzer like this.

Packaging: The bronzer comes in a cute compact with a mirror. It’s your typical compact packaging, but nonetheless realistic for traveling with. The cover has a metallic bronze finish, while the bottom is a sleek black colour.

Overall Rating : 4.9/5 The only thing that keeps this bronzer from receiving a perfect score is the price. However, if you are a beauty insider at Sephora you can manage to get a discount sometimes during their B.I. or V.I.B. events.
