Sephora Face Complexion Brush

 Sephora Face Complexion Brush
Beyond having good quality make-up I think the most important step to making your make-up application natural and flawless is having good skin.

I recently purchased the Sephora Face Complexion Brush and have to say that it is AMAZING! I usually just used my fingers to wash my face with my cleanser, but I felt like it just wasn't that efficient.

This brush has bristles that are soft enough on the face to use daily. I find it really effective because it allows you to gently remove any dead skin cells that your fingers otherwise would not remove.

At Sephora, I bought the face Face Complexion Brush for only $7CAD. There were two colours to choose from- Clear and Fuchsia (although,I it looks more red to me...)

The brush also comes with a little cap, which is nice, but to be honest it kind of falls off. It's not a big deal though, as the brush itself is really effective.

NEW! Sigma SigMAX brushes

It doesn’t just take good quality makeup to give you that flawless effect- it takes high precision brushes like Sigma’s NEW SigMAX line of Precision brushes!
Sigma Synthetic Precision Kit Brushes

Sigma Synthetic Precision Kit Brushes
The NEW Synthetic Precision Kit by Sigma gives you the most ‘precise’ application just like the name says.

The size of all the brushes allow you to apply makeup to every contour of your face, making sure that no section is missed. The Sigma Precision brushes are designed to “mimic your fingertips”, but give you an even softer and easier application that using your fingers could ever give you- they also keep your hands clean!

Here are the brushes that I received that are included in the Synthetic Precision Kit by Sigma:

Precision Flat P80

 Sigma Synthetic Precision Kit Brushes
This brush reminds me of the Flat Kabuki- F80, just the smaller version for a more precise application. I found that I love to use it most for concealing little spots on my face. The size of the brush does a great job of buffing the concealer into your skin, leaving no streaks.

Precision Round P82

This brush is probably the most unique of all the brushes. The small rounded edge feels just like my fingertip making it perfect  for blending in eye shadow primers and cream bases without getting my actual fingers dirty! The rounded edge also gives me a great application for a highlight in the inner corner of my eye!

Precision Angled P84

Another one of my favourites, the Precision Angled P84 brush is great for precise contouring. The size of the brush is perfect because it really allows me to contour my nose in just the areas I need. Using a large brush to contour my nose wouldn’t give me the same effect as it would cover too much surface area and make my whole nose look like it was bronzed. I also love this brush for highlighting the bridge of my nose because it glides right along the top. It also works perfect for highlighting the very tops of my cheekbones without having the whole apple of my cheek look like a shiny mess.

Precision Tapered P86

The point of the Precision Tapered P86 is so efficient because it goes around every contour of my nose lips, eyes- you name it! I use the P86 for applying concealer around the crevices of my nose, and even around my lips to make them look fuller. I have tried using this brush as an eyeshadow crease brush and have to say it works amazing for that too!
You can buy these great Precision Brushes individually for a great steal- $14 each, or get a bargain by purchasing the whole set for only $49!

Sigma has also come out with an addition to their line of the Synthetic Kabuki Kit.

The NEW Tapered Kabuki F86 has many beneficial uses. I have grown to love it for not only applying foundation to my face as it reaches everywhere, but it is really ideal for contouring the hollows of my cheeks to give me more definition.
You can get this brush for $16 or grab the whole set of Synthetic Kabuki brushes in the kit for $56! http://www.sigmabeauty.com/Synthetic_Kabuki_Kit_p/smax04.htm?Click=6384

Jewelry: ALDO vs. Forever 21

As I've mentioned many times before, ALDO and Forever 21 have got to be my top places to shop, especially when it comes to jewelry! You can find great pieces for great prices! (WIN-WIN! :D).

I've decided to start a segment to show just how similar the pieces are from both these stores.

Recently I went to ALDO and saw a stunning set of black bangles. Days later I went to Forever 21 and saw something very similar. The problem was I couldn't remember if I had seen the bangles on the Forever 21 website or if I had, indeed, seen the similar black sparkly gems in the ALDO store.

So, I went on both websites with a mission to hunt down these bracelets, and guess what? I found them both!

Here is the original CIARLO bracelet I saw at ALDO for $12. (Set of 13)
Here is the bangle set from Forever 21 for $17.80CAD.
Tell me they don't remind you of each other!
This set also comes in Gold/Peach.

Personally, I think all sets are beautiful. However, I am going to have to go with ALDO's set because it is cheaper lol!  Tell me if you similar pieces at stores!

'Foxy" Lady- Sonja Josevska Dimcevski

Lately, I’ve been really into listening to music in different languages. One of my favorite albums at the moment is by the beautiful Macedonian singer Sonja Josevska Dimcevski called ‘Lisica’ (Fox).
Sonja Josevska Dimcevski
The album from Senator Music Record Label includes 2 CDs that showcase Sonja’s striking voice. The first CD contains 10 Traditional Macedonian songs, with songs such as ‘Belo Lice’ and ‘Niko Niko’ while the other one includes 10 of Sonja’s Original Folk songs . All songs were produced by Cane Petrov except one which was produced in Angel Kjosev’s ‘Podrumot’ studio. The majority of the lyrics for Sonja’s songs were written by Fotinula Paskova. Senator Music  With either CD you can’t go wrong! Beautiful music that coincides wonderfully with Sonja’s naturally, beautiful voice.

Sonja Josevska Dimcevski’s beauty is not only represented in her voice, but physically as well.  Her album cover is GORGOUS! The pictures were taken by photographer Tony Veleski in the beautiful landscapes of Macedonia. Sonja is also photographed with handsome model and musician Goran Josifovski.

I love the makeup she was wearing for her album photo shoot! Her natural beauty is truly accentuated, especially with her billion dollar smile :)

Style-wise, Sonja's signature look involves wearing gorgeous, long dresses. She looks absolutely stunning in the purple designer gown seen below!
Sonja Josevska Dimcevski
This 30 year old beauty has loved singing and performing in front of crowds ever since she was a little girl. After having her two adorable sons, she decided to pursue her passion to sing in front of thousands. This summer Sonja participated in Macedonia’s top annual, singing festivals including Folk Fest Valandovo and Folk Fest Spasovden.

You can sample Sonja’s songs on YouTube and see her perform live concerts in Canada and the United States with her musician Sasko Apostolovic!

Here’s a little taste of one of my favorite songs!

Stay tuned for her Official Music Videos on YouTube!

10 Things to Bring to Class

1) Zip-up folder- I do not bring my binder with my notes or even my textbook for that matter, (unless it is completely necessary) to class. I just do not like carrying heavy things to class. I do however, bring a zip-up folder to keep loose papers from getting lost. I like how it’s so light-weight making it portable.
Anita's Pick: I got this one from the dollar store. I like it because it has a black and clear slip compartment and even a place to store a pen!

2) PowerPoint printed notes- Most of the time teachers will post PowerPoint slides for the upcoming lecture. These slides are usually used as a guideline for what the prof is going to talk about so it's handy to have them so you are not writing what you could already have with you. Try to focus on what is not written in the slides and write those points.
Anita's Pick: When you are printing your PowerPoint slides you can make handouts and include a place to write any notes on the right side.

3) Pens-  It’s always convenient to have the basic three pens- blue, black, and  red. Black and blue pens are typically the most universal colors to write an exam with. Red is good to have for underlining.
Anita's Pick: Zebra has some retractable pens that write very smoothly. You can get a 12 pack of black or blue or a 12 pack of multi-colors including green and purple!

4) Highlighters- Highlighting important facts is a must for me. Remember, not everything is worth highlighting.  I do not understand how some people highlight complete paragraphs. Do you actually think you’re going to remember every single word? Try to pick the most important, RELEVANT, points from the paragraph
Anita's Pick:  The Sharpie Accent Highlighters are great because they do not bleed through your paper!

5) Textbook Post-it Arrows-  These are probably my favorite things ever lol. I use them for every class and stick them in all my textbooks to help organize the semester. I use them to make it easier to find chapters, find important tables, graphs, etc, and just organize my thoughts.
Anita's Pick: Post-it has some great options. These arrows come in five different colors- perfect for assigning a color to a class.

6) Binder Clips- These clips are better than paperclips because they are more sturdy and help secure your papers.

7) Index (Cue) Cards- I actually don’t bring my cue cards to class unless I’m studying with them, but they are still a great way to study for exams

Index Cards

8) Mechanical Pencils- To save the hassle of sharpening pencils, just bring a mechanical pencil and extra lead. If you are writing multiple choice on Scantron make sure your use the correct lead type so that it will show through the scanner.
Mechanical Pencils

9) Correction Supplies- It’s always convenient to have an extra eraser and even wite-out with you to fix any mistakes in your hand-written notes. NOTE: If you are in the process of writing an exam, do not waste your time Whiting-out your whole paper though. You could use that time to really focus on writing the exam. Instead, just scratch out what you don’t like and continue.
Anita's Pick: If I am using Wite-out I like to use the correction tape kind because the liquid ones can be quite messy- plus you have to wait for it to dry. As for erasers- I've always enjoyed using the white ones because they really erase every mark!

10) Student Planner- Even though I am guilty of using my phone as my day planner- schools usually provide students with planners to help you write down important days for project due dates, exam days etc.. Even though you just started school, trust me, those days creep up pretty fast!
Anita's Pick:If your school does not provide you with a student planner you can find one at any office supplies store. Just look for one with a format that suits you!

OTHER TIPS
*I really do recommend using cue cards to study because it helps you quick reference topics and memorize things on the go (eg. on the train/bus/subway  to school). Rewriting your notes in cue card format reinforces what you learned and helps you memorize the most important facts.

*Even though I do not bring binders to class- I do use them for each class. Some people like to put all their subjects into one binder, but I think it is more efficient to just buy separate ones

*I typically bring my laptop to class, but to be honest, unless you want to be distracted- do not bring it! lol

Hope this helped! Thank you to all my new subscribers! You guys are great! Let me know if you want me to blog about something particular :)

Mark. Juice Gems Lip Gloss

If you are looking for a cheaper alternative to Lancome's Juicy Tubes, then mark. may have what you are looking for!

I own five of the mark. juice gems and absolutely love them. They smell amazing (each one has its own unique scent) and apply very smoothly without being too sticky. Some of the colors in the tube are very vibrant, however when applied, they are actually a little more sheer. Personally, I rather have a more sheer lip gloss, especially if I am putting it on top of lip stick, because I would want my lip stick color to show through.

Otherwise, If I am just applying a little lip gloss to my lips without lip stick I am usually just looking to give them a little shine, with a tad tint of color, so I find these lip glosses to do the trick.

Here are the five mark. juice gems I own:
